I have been qualified in Volume Lashing for 6 months now and I still absolutely love doing volume lashes.
I have taken Classic Lashes off my pricelist, I have done this for several reasons: I get volume lashes myself and I know how much better the feel when they’re on, they look so much nicer, different looks can be created – natural, dramatic, they stay fuller looking for longer. However, if you really want Classic lashes I will still do them.
Here are some recent pictures:
I am almost fully booked with appointments next week. I hope you have all managed to get fitted back in. I thought I would take this opportunity to answer some common questions:
Q: How long will my lashes last?
A: The answer to this isn’t as easy as it sounds. Everyones lashes go through a 6-8 week cycle. At the end of the cycle the lash falls out. I am attaching 1 extension (or 1 handmade fan) to 1 natural lash. The glue I use will normally hold until the lash falls out, so the extensions last as long as is possible on your lashes. As each lash is at a different stage of it’s cycle they all fall out at different times, therefore after a couple of weeks you may start to see gaps. This is normal. Most of my clients come to me every 2-3 weeks for top-ups to keep their lashes looking full, but some come 4 weeks or more (If it is over 4 weeks I charge a full set).
Q: Can I wear mascara with my extensions?
A: I once asked this (years ago before I trained), and the answer I got was why would you want to? This is a very valid question, if you are someone who has always worn mascara it can be very difficult not to. If you have Classic Semi-Permanent Lash Extensions and you want to make them a bit more dramatic for a night out, you can use Flirties Mascara on the tips of the extensions (I retail this for £12) – but stay away from the base where the glue is. If you have Russian Volume Semi-Permanent Lash Extensions the answer is NO! Mascara will close up your fans and make them look clumpy and like you have used a fibre-lash mascara.
Q: Why do I need to clean my lashes?
A: You need to clean your extensions (with baby shampoo and a nose pore brush) to stop a build up of make-up, sleep, bacteria etc. It is quite difficult to keep extensions clean and you want to make sure you don’t end up with an infection like Blepharitis. I stock a lash cleanser called Chrissanthie with is fab for cleaning your extensions. I have it on sale for £20 at the moment.
Q: Can I remove my lashes with baby oil?
A: NO! I tell you not to use oily products on your lashes as it can affect retention, but oil does not break down the glue like my remover does. Please don’t buy remover and try it yourself either – it stings like crazy if you get it in your eyes. I offer FREE removal. It doesn’t matter if you are a client of mine or not I will remove lashes for free. I tell everyone that lash extensions do not damage your natural lashes, which they don’t if they are applied and removed correctly. I want to stop the bad press they get, as they don’t deserve it!
I have just entered an artistic lash photograph competition. I’m not particularly artistic when it comes to make-up etc, so I took one of my best pictures and photoshopped it. I never altered the lashes in any way I just added a reflection to the photo.
Oh my gosh! I am just getting ready to go to the Scentsy World Tour in Glasgow. It will be my first Scentsy event since joining and I can’t wait. Then I’m off to Smiths at Gretna for a Scentsy Team Meal tonight. Way too exciting!!!! I will be back posting some pics tomorrow.
….Before I received my Certificate!!!!!
This was my last set of Volume Lashes before I officially qualified. 🙂
Russian Volume Lashes Dumfries
I hope everyone had a lovely Valentines weekend.
Chris and I decided no cards or presents this year but that we would just go out for a nice meal. We booked a table at Lockards Farm. I have heard mixed reviews about it, but we had a lovely evening. The service was a bit slow, but the girl who was serving us was lovely so we couldn’t complain.
Now I’m looking forward to a busy week at work. Loads of lash top-ups this week, but there’s still space if you want to book in. Either Classic Semi-Permanent Lash Extensions or Russian Volume Semi-Permanent Eyelash Extensions. If you’re undecided why not head over to my facebook page for some more information: https://www.facebook.com/AdoreNailsandLashes
OMG I went to Stobo for the first time a couple of weeks ago. It was a last minute thing, as someone in my friends group had dropped out. I had the most amazing time! I’m not going to lie, I looked at the prices etc and thought they were pretty steep, but from the moment I arrived it was pure luxury. We stayed for two nights which was just perfect. I don’t think I would want to go for any less time, but equally I think 3 nights would have been too long – I would have felt a lot more guilty for being away from my boys.
We had lunch on arrival instead of departure as we had to leave sharp on the Wednesday to get back for School pick ups. The food was so good, 3 course meals for lunch and dinner (the portion sizes were pretty big), and the breakfast was hot and cold buffet style.
As I went last minute I never had time to book any treatments – they need to be booked about 10 days in advance. But when I got there there was a sign up to say there were spaces available for a sports massage, which was top of my want list!! We relaxed in the outdoor hot tubs, the sauna, steam rooms, lazed by the pool after a swim, we even took our adult colouring books! We tried to read our books, but we got too carried away chatting to each other.
We had such a fab time and I would love to go back sometime, the time went so fast, but it was nice to get home to see my boys. J was so happy to see me when I picked him up from School. 🙂
Oh! I almost forgot, the Ladies Rest Room…….Well! There was a menu telling you what to do – I will only say two words “Lady Wash”
After months of ignoring my website I have decided I really need to get it sorted again. I will add more content over the next few weeks.
There is a link to book appointments with me.
